In recent years in Japan, about 300,000 people die each year of cancer or its complications. Treatments used for these cancers include surgical operation, radiation therapy or various anticancer drugs. Although there are different outcomes depending on the type of cancer, great hardship may be awaiting patients when the first treatment cannot completely cure the cancer.
