To guide each MEDINET director and employee in any decisions, selections, and actions, we established the “MEDINET Compliance Program” and compiled the “Charter of Corporate Conduct,” which is practiced by every member of the company.
System to promote compliance
To promote compliance-based management and fulfill our corporate social responsibility, we established various rules to ensure thorough compliance, such as the “compliance action standards,” “compliance rules,” and “risk management rules,” and put in place a corporate governance system to ensure thorough implementation.
We also strive to spread understanding of the rules and guidance for compliance by conducting lectures for all directors and employees when they join the company and promoting further study online. Further, we regularly invite speakers from the Tokyo Stock Exchange to hold seminars about regulations and recent cases of insider trading.
Establishing a “Compliance Hotline”
We have established a “Compliance Hotline” with the aim of early discovery and rectification of violations of internal rules, laws and regulations, and corporate ethics.
In conducting investigations and corrective action, we ensure that the anonymity and interests of whistleblowers are preserved. We also notify employees of reporting procedures through our intranet to promote thorough awareness of the system.
Promotion of compliance in R&D
MEDINET engages in research and development of regenerative medicine and cell therapy to promptly provide patients with safe cell medicinal products.
As a company that conducts R&D in life science, we think that it is our responsibility to abide by laws and regulations and impose a high ethical code and quality standard in R&D activities.
To fulfill this responsibility, we regularly hold Ethics Committee meetings to examine the ethics and scientific validity of R&D activities. We have also established and are raising awareness of various rules regarding genetic recombination experiments, animal testing, and biosafety, among others, so all employees can conduct research under rigorous ethical standards.
